Had a pretty good training week last week. I wasn't thinking though on Wednesday and I gave blood right before my 4 fast miles. I went to do them anyways but I barely made it through the first mile. Oops. Guess there is a reason that they tell you to wait at least 24 hours before any vigorous activity. From what I have read, it takes 24-48 hours for your blood volume to be back to normal and 4-8 weeks for your RBC count to be back to normal. If I would have known that I probably wouldn't have given blood. Also, I think I used that as an excuse a little bit to not have a great run Wednesday night.
Well Friday I think I was scheduled for 8 miles and I ended up running 6 but felt pretty good. Had to cut it a little bit short because I had a patient to get to at school.
Sunday I ran 18 miles. YAY!!! I felt AWESOME and was so proud of myself. Saturday night I worked on a new marathon playlist and so that made me pretty pumped for my run. It will probably go through a few edits before it's finalized, and right now it's at about 11 hours so I should have enough music for about one week of running. That should be good so that I don't get too tired of it.
Now I am starving. Yesterday I had a pretty good lunch and dinner, and when I laid down in bed around 10:30, I realized I was STARVING. So around 11:15, I couldn't handle the hunger anymore, got up and ate a pretty good amount, and then woke up this morning STARVING again. I guess I'm getting that post-long run ravenous appetite.
Also, I have a strange localized pain in my back. It started the last 8 or so miles of my run. You'd think I'd know what it was but right now I am kind of confused by it!
Less than five weeks!
This weekend is the Mo Cowbell Half Marathon outside of St. Louis.
